Scott is an AI-augmented novelist who uses advanced tools for research, outlining, drafting, and revision to accelerate discovery and sharpen ideas—always as a trusted assistant, never a coauthor. He maintains full creative control, voice, and ethics: every narrative choice is his, and every final sentence is human-crafted for clarity, emotion, and impact. Before he writes, he investigates—building timelines and maps, combing archives and newspapers, studying photographs and artifacts, and walking the streets where scenes unfold. He interviews experts, verifies facts across multiple sources, and keeps a meticulous style sheet so names, dates, and details stay true. While some scenes are dramatized, the world beneath them is authentic. Explore “Behind the Pages” at the bottom of every book page for source notes, images, and research deep dives.

SCOTT HAMELE is a prolific Kansas City–based author of more than a dozen books spanning historical and biographical thrillers, near-future suspense, and speculative fiction. His work blends cinematic pace with research-driven authenticity—real streets, tight timelines, lived-in backstories. Sci-fi favorites include Vision Protocol, Dustwings – Black Ops, The Clearborn Society, and The Paper Candidate. In historical fiction, his completed novels include Capone’s North Road, The Petticoat Butcher, Hanna’s Room, Promise in the Sky, Echoes of Route 66, Hitler Survives, Staff of Moses, Orchard of Secrets, Dust & Honor, and Kentucky Whiskey Barons.

Hamele’s passion for history is rooted in family lore. Raised in Salina, Kansas, he was especially close with his maternal grandfather, Dean A. Gilley, who passed down stories from his own grandfather, Peter Cornelius—tales that reach back through Dox Cornelius and span the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and both World Wars. On his father’s side, Portage and Ashland, Wisconsin, loomed large through accounts of Col. Robert J. Jones—Hamele’s first cousin once removed—a survivor of the Bataan Death March, a Japanese POW for over three years, and among the most decorated pilots of the 20th century. With such a lineage, Hamele’s enduring focus on the Civil War and World War II feels inevitable.

Scott and his wife, Christine—a Kansas City native—have been married for over 31 years and live in Lenexa, KS. They’re the proud parents of two grown daughters, Abigail and Mary Cate, and delighted grandparents to Mellie and Celeste. A proud Jayhawk, Hamele attended the University of Kansas.

“Hamele pulls readers deep into his worlds—then propels them forward with relentless heart and cinematic intensity.”
